A 50-year-old vendor, who was just standing in front of his house, was shot dead by an unidentified man for still unclear reason yesterday in Makati City.
Killed was Edwin Parinas, married, of Langka St., Barangay Comembo, Makati City.
Parinas died due to several bullet wounds in the body after he was shot at close range.
Police said the suspect immediately fled.
The shooting incident took place at 2 a.m. in front of the Parinas house where he was standing on the sidewalk.
Witnesses told police that the suspect casually approached and accosted Parinas, suddenly pulled a gun and shot the victim several times.
They added that the suspect left when Parinas fell on the ground dead.
Meanwhile, in Muntinlupa, a man was stabbed and seriously wounded by a barber after the victim refused to let the suspect join his group’s drinking session.
Police identified the victim as Jhonjoe Demenjino, 19, of Purok 6, Extension Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Demenjino was rushed to Ospital ng Muntinlupa due to three stab wounds in the body from a barber’s scissor.
The suspect, identified as Alex Ducalan, 43, surrendered to the police after the incident.
Senior Supt. Nicolas Salvador, chief of Muntinlupa police, said the incident took place at 3 a.m.
SPO1 Mark Villanuac of Muntinlupa’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) said investigation showed that the suspect was on his way home when he saw the group of Demenjino in a drinking spree.
Since they were all neighbors, Ducalan approached the group to join but the victim resented his presence.
It was at this point that an altercation ensued between the two and in the fit of anger, Ducalan pulled out a scissor and stabbed Demenjino three times.
