BALER, Aurora -- A new P4.1-million model police station will be constructed in this capital town as part of the modernization program of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Town chief of police Senior Insp. Emilio Sison said the PNP’s modernization program, particularly on the upgrading of the physical facilities, is a sign of the unwavering reform of the PNP leadership to achieve institutional changes with the support of the local government unit and the community.
The three-storey model police station now underway in the new public market will be finished in six months. Sison added that once finished, it will be used by the Baler PNP over the next 40 years following a memorandum of agreement signed with Mayor Nelianto Bihasa.
He said the construction of a better police station would provide the local police force better facilities as they perform their tasks of preserving peace and order in the town.
The project will have a minimum lot and floor area of 400 square meters and 288 square meters, respectively.
The building project is expected to at least erase the physical stigma of the mysterious death of Police Officer 2 Lourex Sindac inside the present police station on the midnight of December 15, 2015.
