An unidentified gunman killed three trolley boys while sitting inside a waiting shed beside the railroad tracks on Daang Bakal, East Drive Village, Bgy. Pooc, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, Wednesday morning.
A report to acting Laguna police director Senior Supt. Joel Pernito by Supt. Giovanni Martinez, Sta. Rosa police chief, identified the slain victims as Ramil Rimal, 48, of Block 24, Lot 34, Phase 3, Southville 4; Antonio Lorente, 34, of Block 6, Lot 1, Phase 1, Southville, Bgy. Kaingin; and Benjie delos Reyes, 25, of Souhtville 4, Phase 2, Bgy. Pooc, all in Sta. Rosa City.
Two of the victims died on the spot due to several gunshots wounds in their heads and bodies while their companion was declared dead on arrival at Sta. Rosa Community Hospital.
One of the victims, according to investigators, was on the police drug watchlist (as pusher) who surrendered last Aug. 28 this year.
Meanwhile, the suspect, armed with a cal. 9mm, was described as wearing green T-shirt and maong shorts, about 30 years old, 5’3” to 5’6” in height, who fled on foot right after the shooting incident.
A witness, a certain Reynante Macasinag, 21, a factory worker, told investigators that the incident happened at 10:30 a.m. when the unidentified suspect suddenly arrived and peppered the victims with bullets inside the waiting shed while waiting for passengers.
Recovered at the crime scene were seven empty fired cartridge cases for cal. 9mm.
Police are still determining the motive behind the gun attack.
