A 27-year-old female production helper of Robina Universal Corporation was shot dead by a 39-year-old foreman while she was standing in front of North Park restaurant waiting for his boyfriend in Bgy. Pittland, Cabuyao City, Laguna, Tuesday.
Cabuyao City police chief Supt. Fernando Ortega said the victim, identified as Ma. Angelica Sacdalan, single, of Purok 8, Bgy. Mamplasan, Biñan City, sustained a gunshot wound in the head from a cal. .38 revolver used by the suspect.
Sacdalan’s body was brought to John Paul Funeral parlor in Bgy. Dita, Sta. Rosa City, for autopsy.
As of yesterday, investigators are still determining the motive behind the incident.
Investigators said that at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, the victim and her co-worker, Josephine Apostol Casacop were standing in front of the restaurant when the incident occurred.
Witnesses told police investigators that the suspect, a certain Jonnie Vinas, 39, of Bgy. Asis, Bauan, Batangas, armed with a cal. .38 revolver, shot the victim in a treacherous manner at close range while the victim was waiting for the arrival of his boyfriend, a certain Anrei Binalayo.
After the shooting, the suspect escaped and tried to hide at the residence of barangay tanod Antonio Molinar Jr., but was arrested later by policemen.
Confiscated from the suspect was a cal. .38 loaded with five bullets. He was locked up at the city jail, facing charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
