police arrested three persons, including a minor couple, and confiscated marijuana plants in a marijuana laboratory which was discovered inside a subdivision in Antipolo City Friday night.
Marikina police chief Senior Supt. Lorenzo Holanday Jr., in a report to Eastern Police District director Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula, identified the arrested suspects as Carmella ‘Mela’ Lazaro, 17, of Nimpha St., Marikina City, Keith Louisse Hernandez , 18, of Eustaquio St., Concepcion Uno, and Cresanto Regaspo Dumancas, resident of Antipolo City.
Holanday Jr. said the couple was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted inside a McDonald’s outlet on Bayanbayanan Ave., Bgy. Concepcion Uno, at around 5:27 p.m.
The buy-bust was conducted based on information that the couple had been providing marijuana to students and schoolchildren in Marikina. Seized from the duo were three sachets and a sandwich bag containing suspected dried marijuana leaves.
During interrogation, the minor couple said Dumancas was their source of marijuana.
In a follow-up operation, an undercover cop managed to buy marijuana from Dumancas inside the Infinite Café on Lilac St., Concepcion Dos, also in Marikina City, at around 9:30 p.m.
According to Holanday, Dumancas agreed to bring the poseur-buyer to his improvised marijuana laboratory inside his rented apartment at 419 Dama de Noche St., Greenheights, New Town, Bgy Mayamot, Antipolo City.
Marikina police, in coordination with Antipolo cops, raided the marijuana lab and seized marijuana plots being grown in five flower pots, two closets with insulation, lighting and cooling system and a thermometer.
Antipolo City Police Station and Provincial Crime Laboratory Office of Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) turned over the seized marijuana plants and other materials to the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office.
The suspects are now detained at the Marikina police detention cell and facing drug charges.
Meanwhile, Sapitula commended the Marikina police for a job well done.
