St. Clare bets honored

ST.CLARE College standouts Aris Dionisio and  Paeng Rebugio and coach Jino Manansala carted  away most  of  the individual awards in the recent 16th NAASCU basketball tournament at the Makati Coliseum.

Dionisio, the Saints’ very own “Tower of Power”, bagged the Most Valuable  Player (MVP) award and added the Best Rebounds and Best  Blocks awards.

Rebugio  ran away with Best Assists  award.

Both  Dionisio and Rebugio were also  named  to  the Mythical First team, which also include Joseph Marquez of Our Lady of Fatima University,  Carl Lumbao of Lyceum of Subic  Bay and Subic Mike Ayonayon  of Philippine Christian University.
   
Manansala was named  as ‘Best Coach.’    
   
Other special awardees were:
   
Rojay Santos of St. Clare (Rooie of the Year)
   
Von Tambeling of PCU (Scoring champion
   
Jerome Juanico  of OLFU

(Best Steals)
     
Rommel Gruta (Beat referees).
   
In the junior division, Mark Yu  of   St. Clare  and   Karl  Bautista  of  AMA  University  were honored as MCP and Top Rookie, respectively.
   
Joining Yu in the : Mythical Five  are Raymart Lumabas  of St. Clare, Javin Serrano of AMA, Jack Hoyohoy of Fatima and Jonathan Boholano  of  Rizal Technological University.
    
Manansala was also named Best Coach in the junior division.
   
Honored in  the women’s division  are Ella  Rodriguez  of Enderun Colleges (MVP) and coach  Emilia Vega of Enderun (Best Coach).
   
With Rodriguez  in the Mythical Five are Joylyn Pangilinan (Enderun), Christy Mier  (RTU), Angelica Jaberto (RTU)  and Patricia Evangelista of  AMA University.
  
A Plaque of Appreciation was also given to  Luisito Dacer  “Boy” Cruz.                     B. Andaya
