A 26-YEAR-OLD man, who wrought havoc in what was supposed to be a fun game of basketball among residents of Tondo, Manila, was nabbed when he fired his gun indiscriminately and then threw a grenade after his request for the game to be stopped went unheeded.
John Paul Quiocho, of 351 Padre Rada St., Tondo, Manila, will be charged accordingly, police said.
A report from the Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 2 said the suspect was nabbed at 4:10 p.m. inside the Wagas basketball court on Wagas Street.
Witnesses told police the suspect arrived, holding a plastic bag.
He then summoned one of the players and told him to stop the game or people will be caught in a crossfire of an impending chaos.
The players ignored the suspect, who moments later, took out a gun and a hand grenade, sending everyone scamper to different directions.
The suspect reportedly appeared confused as he was left alone and began firing indiscriminately. He also removed the pin of his grenade which he threw on the floor. It did not explode.
