TENSION gripped students and teachers of a public high school due to a bomb threat received by their principal Monday morning in Lipa City, Batangas.
Reports said the bomb threat was received by Cheryl Faderogao Fabregas, 50, principal of Anilao National High School and resident of Blk. 7, Lot 43, Villa de Lipa 1 Subd., Bgy. Marauoy, Lipa City.
According to Fabregas, at around 7:30 a.m., she received a text message from cellphone number 09070913802 that bombs were planted in the school and will explode anytime.
“Magandang umago po. Concerned citizen ito, may mga bomba na sasabog sa high school ng Anilao. Salamat,” the text message said.
Upon reading the text message, the teacher immediately evacuated the students as a precautionary measure and reported the information to the nearest police station.
Elements from the Explosive and Ordnance Division (EOD) of the Philippine Air Force proceeded to the area and conducted an inspection.
However, after a few minutes, the team declared the school clear and safe and tried to contact the text sender but could not reach him.
