A TOTAL of eight drug suspects were killed in various operations in Manila the other day up to yesterday morning. Of the number, five were killed in Quiapo, three in separate areas in Tondo and one in San Andres, Bukid.
At around 6:45 p.m. the other day, the five drug suspects busted in an operation in Quiapo, Manila, fell after an operation was carried out by policemen under Supt. Santiago Pascual, station commander of the Manila Police District-Sta.Cruz Police Station 3 in Arlegui Street, Quiapo, jointly with forces from the Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Unit from the Plaza Miranda Police Community Precinct.
When the cops posing as buyers managed to purchase P1,500 worth of illegal drugs, the policemen attacked the area called ‘Cambodia Alley’ in Arlegui and which was dotted with shanties.
An exchange of gunfire ensued between the cops and suspected pushers, resulting in the instant death of five of the suspects who remain unidentified.
Recovered from them were two cal. .22 guns, a .38 cal. revolver, a .45 cal. pistol, four plastic sachets containing shabu and several paraphernalia for its use.
Earlier at around 1:30 a.m., two alleged drug pushers were killed at 3171 Int. 2, Pilar St., Tondo, during an alleged shooting encounter with a group of policemen from the MPD-Jose Abad Santos Police Station 7.
The two were identified as Alexander Cuyugan, 40, of Pilar Street in Tondo, Manila, and a certain ‘Jeje Reyes.’
A cop posing as a drug buyer reportedly struck a deal with Cuyugan for the purchase of some P300 worth of shabu. However, he was reportedly able to sense that the buyer was a cop that he tried to shoot him.
The cop was able to shoot the suspect even before the latter could fire his gun, along with Reyes. Recovered from them were two guns and several sachets containing shabu.
The suspect’s grandmother reportedly admitted to the police that the suspect had been a drug user for sometime and that he even uses their home as a drug den.
At around 2:50 a.m., drug suspect Ryan Eder alias ‘Buwaya,’ 29, was also killed at the corner of Granate and Sagrada Familia Streets in San Andres Bukid, Manila, after reportedly shooting it out with policemen who conducted a buy-bust operation against him.
Also found on him were a cal. .38 gun with several live bullets, several sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
