THREE suspected drug dealers in Bulacan were killed during separate encounters with the local police while two notorious drug traffickers were captured and P300,000 worth of shabu were seized in Caraga region, police reported yesterday.
Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said yesterday that said five others were arrested during the series of anti-narcotics operations in Bocaue and Norzagaray towns on Tuesday.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Aaron N. Aquino Jr., Caramat identified the slain suspects as Rodesto Jenotan, alias ‘Hudas,’ 52, native of Cabanatuan City and residing at 73 Bambang, Bocaue; Rodrigo Maringal, alias ‘Boy Cruz,’ 40, of Block 3, Lot 72, Purok 1, Bgy. FVR, Norzagaray; and Danilo Bardaje, alias Jomar Fulgo, a neighbor of Maringal.
Caramat said members of the Bocaue Municipal Police Station, led by Supt. Charlie Cabradilla, shot dead Jenotan when he sensed an entrapment operation and ran inside his house where he took a grenade and tried to lob it at the officers.
The operation also resulted in the arrest of the slain suspect’s live-in partner named Marites Nicolas and the confiscation of a live fragmentation grenade, 17 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing two grams of shabu worth P10,000 and a marked P500 bill earlier paid to the suspect by the undercover officer.
In Norzagaray, policemen under Supt. Rizalino Andaya gunned down Maringal and Bardaje during a brief firefight at a known drug den in Phase 1 being operated by the slain suspects.
Recovered at the scene were five packets of shabu, two loaded cal. .38 revolvers without serial numbers, 12 P100 bills and various drug paraphernalia. Arrested during the same operation were Leodegario Bernardino, alias ‘Joel Donaire,’ 28, a suspected member of the Padura Motornapping Group operating in Bulacan; Jose Rendora, 50, Bernard Estrella, 34, and Rafael Serna, 21.
In Cagara region, agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group early morning yesterday captured two notorious drug traffickers during an entrapment operation in Butuan City which led to the seizure of nearly P300,000 worth of shabu, a report to PNP-CIDG director Chief Supt. Roel B. Obusan said.
The CIDG 13 said suspects Ronald Su and Junnel Lambonao were placed under arrest after they conspired to sell shabu to a poseur in Purok 5, Bgy. 18, Obrero, Butuan City, at 9 a.m. yesterday.
Recovered from the suspects were nine plastic sachets containing 21 grams of shabu worth P300,000 and the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill.
Members of the Regional Public Safety 13 and the Butuan City Police Station assisted the CIDG operatives in the conduct of the successful drug bust.
The arrested suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
