Mentor abducted by ASG bandits freed

A teacher held captive since Tuesday by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) was released yesterday in Bgy. Danag, Patikul, Sulu.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Min-danao Command (AFP-Westmincom) said kidnap victim Adrina Bongil, a teacher from Tuup Elementary School, was brought by her relatives to Jolo town proper.

At 2:30 p.m. yesterday, Mayor Kabir Elias Hayudini of Patikul, Sulu, brought Bongil to his residence in Bgy. Anuling, Patikul.

Troops from Joint Task Force Sulu proceeded to the area to meet and conduct debriefing on the victim.

Bongil was abducted by four armed men in Bgy. Kan Ague, Patikul, on Aug. 16, 2016.
