ANGELES City -- A man and three women, who were selling methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in cheap motels here were arrested in separate buy-bust operations last Tuesday.
Senior Supt. Sidney Villaflor, acting city police director, said the suspects have been using “short-time” motels as base of their illegal activities, usually offering people checking in.
“Instead of selling shabu from their residences, some drug pushers have been renting rooms in motels and sell illegal drugs to patrons. Akala siguro nila hindi sila mahuhuli dahil maraming nagtse-check-in at hindi sila mahahalata. Mabuti na lang at natunugan sila ng ating kapulisan at nahuli sila,” he said.
Chief Insp. Aris Gonzales, Police Station 4 commander, identified the suspects as Maelyn Alfaro, 28, and Maritess Villamar, 47, who were arrested after selling a small sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer in front of Room 5 of Sunlight Lodge on Hennyfel St., Bgy. Balibago.
The two other suspects, one Lando and his live-in partner, whose full names were not in the police report, were arrested after they sold a small plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer in front of Room D of Rajah Lodge on Johny’s St., also in Bgy. Balibago.
Confiscated from the two women at Sunlight Lodge were three small plastic sachets of suspected shabu, aluminum foils and two live ammunition for cal. .22.
Police confiscated two small plastic sachets of suspected shabu and aluminum foils from the couple at Rajah Lodge.
The four suspects are facing charges for violation of Sections 5, 11, 12 and 15 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
