5 p.m. -- F2 Logistics vs Foton (Finals, Game 3)
NOW on equal footing, F2 Logistics and Foton dispute the Philippine SuperLiga All-Filipino Conference championship in a winner-take-all match today at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The three-day gap between Games 2 and 3 will help the Cargo Movers and Tornadoes to come up with an improved performance to snatch the season-opening title.
The no-tomorrow clash is set at 5 p.m.
F2 Logistics went through the wringer to win the opener, 25-20, 25-14, 9-25, 20-25, 15-10, before Foton equalized in Game 2, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-18, over the weekend.
After committing 39 errors in Game 1, the Tornadoes managed to cut it down to only 23 while improving their reception that frustrated the Cargo Movers.
Veteran Rhea Dimaculangan also did a splendid job setting the plays as she finished with 36 out of her team's 39 excellent sets, with getting Jaja Santiago, Cherry Rondina, Maika Ortiz and Patty Orendain getting involved with the balanced offense.
Santiago finished with 19 points while Rondina, Ortiz and Orendain had 15, 13 and 10 hits, respectively, in the series-tying victory.
“We were finally able to solve our problems in Game 1,” said Foton coach Vilet Ponce-de Leon. “But everything will be worthless if we don’t win Game 1. We have to be careful because F2 Logistics is such a strong team who can bounce mightily after a bad loss. We have to be at our best for one last time this conference."
The Tornadoes know how to win games when mattered.
