A jeepney driver died from three gunshot wounds when an unidentified armed man shot him the other night in Sampaloc, Manila, amid a heavy downpour.

Ricardo Delemon, 36, of 1909 Vizayan St., Sampaloc, died instantly due to gunshot wounds in the back.

SPO2 Joseph Kabigting of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident took place at 6:45 p.m. while the victim was plying the Balic-Balic-España route with his wife Gina.

The suspect boarded the jeepney on Vicente Cruz corner Fajardo Streets and sat behind the driver. Upon reaching Fermeza Street, the suspect drew a gun and then fired at the victim repeatedly.

After making sure that the victim was dead, the suspect got off and then boarded a motorcycle that was trailing the jeep. The motorcycle then sped off toward an unknown direction.
Police recovered spent shells for 9mm gun at the driver’s seat.
