EIGHT persons, including two women, suspected to be drug personalities and with standing warrants of arrest, were arrested in separate police operations the other day in Taguig and Las Pinas cities.
Arrested were Jomar Makapigis and Rolando Reposos, Amor Doma, all of Rosario Village, Katipunan, Western Bicutan, Taguig City; John Lawrence Regalado, 23, Jayson Regalado, 25, Catherine De Castro, 45, Bienvenido Hernandez, alias Ben-Ben, Romy Guizi, 55, tricycle driver, all of Las Piñas City.
Police said Makapigis, Reposos and Doma were arrested by Taguig City policemen conducting “Oplan Tokhang”.
SPO2 Napoleon Tongco of Taguig Anti-illegal Drug-Special Operation Task Group said his team was on anti-illegal drug operation when they chanced upon the suspects playing cara y cruz on the street.
Police said an improvised handgun was seized from Reposo while six plastic sachets of shabu were recovered from Makapigis and Doma, a confessed drug user who surrendered to police recently.
Las Piñas police, on the other hand, arrested Jayson and John Lawrence, during an “Oplan Sita” operation on Marco Alvarez Ave., Bgy. Talon Singko.
Police said they recovered two plastic sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
De Castro was arrested by virtue of a warrant for carnapping issued by Judge Ismael T. Duldulao of Las Pinas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 197 while Hernandez was arrested after police raided his house by virtue of a warrant issued by Executive Judge of Las Piñas for possession of illegal drugs.
Guizi was arrested by virtue of a warrant for rape issued by Judge Lorna Navarro-Doming of RTC Branch 201 of Las Piñas.
Police said the suspects were brought the police station for proper disposition.
