CAMP Olivas, Pampanga -- Three men were arrested and five guns and ammunition were confiscated by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives in Subic town, Zambales, last July 29 and 30.

CIDG Region 3 officer-in-charge Supt. Edwin Quilates identified the arrested suspects as Ronald Gonzales, 47, Rommel Ortega, 54, and Antonio Basay, 44. They were caught in Bgy. Naugsol, Subic, last July 30.

CIDG-Zambales received an information that a group of armed men were present in the area, prompting them to respond. There they arrested the suspects for violation of Republic Act 10951 and confiscated two cal. .45 pistols and a 9mm pistol from them.

In Bgy. Matain, Subic, CIDG-Zambales operatives tried but failed to arrest a certain Jun Lopez, a suspected drug pusher.

But while he was able to run away from the policemen, he left behind a cal. .22 and a cal. .38 revolver and ammunition. Three small plastic sachets of shabu and the marked P500 bill used in the buy-bust operation were also recovered.
