Mabilis na tumakas lulan sa isang motorsiklo patungo ng kabayanan na pawang nakasuot ng itim na helmet ang dalawang suspek.
Ayon sa inisyal na ulat, naganap ang pamamaslang kay Landerito dakong alas-11 ng umaga samantalang nakaupo ito sa nasabing lugar na pinaghihinalaang may hinihintay itong kasamahan habang nakahimpil ang sinasakyan nitong kulay puting motorsiklong Suzuki (7582DN).
Bigla umanong dumating ang mga suspek lulan ng motorsiklo kung saan isa pa sa mga ito ang nag-alis ng kanyang helmet at nagkaroon pa ng pag-uusap na nauwi sa isang mainitang pagtatalo.
Dito naman agad na nakapagbunot ng baril ang isa sa suspek at malapitang pinagbabaril ang biktima na agad nitong ikinamatay at hindi na nagawa pang makapanlaban.
Isang cellphone at kalibre .45 baril ni Landerito ang tinangay ng mga suspek makaraan ang pamamaril samantalang mabilis na nakaresponde sa lugar si Villagonzalo at LPPSC deputy chief Senior Insp. Percival Gabinete kung saan nagkaroon ng pagtugis subali’t parang bula umanong nawala ang mga ito.
Hindi inaalis ng pulisya na posible umanong may kinalaman sa mga personal na gawain ang isa sa tinitingnan na motibo ng mga ito.
