DAGUPAN City -- Caught in the act of using shabu, a member of Calasiao Police Station was arrested by elements the Dagupan City Police Station Anti-Drug Task Force Monday afternoon.
The suspect was identified as PO1 Wilson Ballesteros, 35, of Bgy. San Vicente, Calasiao.
Supt. Christopher Abrahano, Dagupan PNP chief, said Ballesteros is included in their intelligence watch-list. They are also investigating the possible involvement of Ballesteros in illegal drugs trade in the city.
Ballesteros was arrested at 5 p.m. Monday at an abandoned shack in Pantal Centro.
Abrahano said they had earlier received reports about Ballesteros frequenting the area with friends sniffing shabu.
An informant led a police team to the shack where Ballesteros was caught in the act of using shabu. Upon arrest, he yielded a sachet of shabu.
In 2015, Ballesteros was relieved from the Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS). His last assignment before his arrest was at the Calasiao PNP where he is reportedly to be absent without official leave.
Abrahano said Ballesteros will be facing three cases -- possession of illegal drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and use of illegal drug.
