Calling all boys aged 10 to 14 years old. Registration for the Regional Selection Camps for the 2012 Jr. NBA Philippines Program presented by Alaska is now open.
All eligible junior players who wish to be part of this year’s Jr. NBA Camps, learn NBA style basketball skills and challenges and vie to be among the top 10 players of their region can now go online and register.
This fifth consecutive staging of the program will hold regional selection camps in Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, Pampanga and Manila in April.
All that kids and their parents have to do to join the camps is log on to http://www.jrnba.com.ph./regional-selection-camp-general-info.php and fill in the relevant information.
Boys between the ages of 10 and 14 born after Feb. 28, 1998 and before March 1, 2002 are eligible to participate in this year’s Jr. NBA presented by Alaska Regional Selection Camp for a chance to be selected into the 2012 Jr. NBA All-Star Team.
The schedule of regional selection camps is as follows: Puerto Princesa, Palawan, April 10 and 11; Cagayan de Oro, April 14 and 15; Pampanga, April 17 and 18 and Manila/NCR, April 21 and 22.
The regional selection camps, which will be run by NBA-appointed local coaches, will determine the Top 10 players of each region, based on how they measure up against skills, aptitude and endurance challenges at the training camp. Regional Camp participants will also be introduced to the Jr. NBA STAR values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect.
The top 10 players from each regional camp plus ten more top players from the Alaska Power Camp will then advance to the highlight of the program which is the National training camp in May.
The 10 2012 Jr. NBA All Stars who will be rewarded with an authentic NBA experience and the chance to play a foreign Jr. NBA team abroad will be chosen from the 50 national training camp players.
