Pacquiao joins 21st Revilla Cup

EIGHT-TIME world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao seeks another victory in a different but familiar field as he registered for the 21st staging of the Revilla Cup seven-cock invitational derby on March 1, 3 and 5 at the Cavite Coliseum and Derby Center in Bacoor, Cavite.

Pacquiao, one of the leading Filipino cock breeders, is confident of doing well in the prestigious event which offers a guaranteed prize of P3 million.

Congressman Patrick Antonio topped last year’s event.

The pot money is P55,000 while the minimum bet is P22,000.  The handler and gaffer of the winning entry will receive P100,000 and P50,000, respectively. Required weight is from 1.9 to 2.5 kilograms.

Submission of weights will be on February 29 and March 2 and 4 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla will host the derby which starts at 4 p.m.  Assisting the senator are former Senator and Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) Chairman Ramon Revilla Sr., Congressman Patrick Antonio, Gerry Ramos, Eric dela Rosa, Butchoy Olallo, former Makati Vice Mayor Nestor Mercado and Mayor Homer Saquilayan.
