San Miguel Beer is not taking Saigon Heat likely as the Beermen eye a fourth Asean Basketball League (ABL) win today at their opponents’ homecourt at the Tan Binh Stadium in Vietnam.
“One thing I’ve learned in this league is not to take any team lightly, especially when they are playing in their homecourt,”said San Miguel Beer head coach Bobby Parks, whose team is a coming off a 94-59 victory over the Bangkok Cobras.
Parks pointed out to Heat import Julius Hodge, who is currently the ABL’s leading scorer with 25.40 points per game even as his team is situated at the bottom with five straight setbacks. SMB is expected to find ways to handcuff Hodge in the 8 pm game.
If the Beermen can match their game against the Cobras, they will have no problems picking up a fourth victory in six games. Against the Cobras, SMB shot 49 percent in the field (38-of-78 attempts), had 51 rebounds and moved the ball much better with 26 assists.
