La Salle-Dasma scores twinkill in beach volley

DASMARIÑAS, Cavite— La Salle-Dasmariñas retained the men’s and women’s beach volleyball crowns of the 19th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) men’s basketball tournament.

Patriots bet Alnakran Abdilla and new partner Joel Villanueva turned back the duo of Philippine Merchant Marine School Mariners Alsali Pajiji and Rowell Camisin, 21-16,  in the men’s finals at the sand courts of the DLSU-Dasmariñas Health and Sciences Institute campus to retain the crown in this spikefest supported by Mikasa and Balls, and ANI AgriNurture Inc.

On the other hand, Jennifer Manzano teamed up with  Giselle Bembo to lead the Lady Patriots past Rizal Technological University’s  Julienne Abat and Jessa Aranda, 21-10, for the women’s title.

The pair of title triumphs put La Salle-Dasmariñas as the front-runner in the race for the overall championship.

Abdilla and Villanueva were unfazed as they swept their three-game assignments.

They first posted a 21-16 win over Olivarez College, before pulling off a 21-14 triumph over RTU.

They found themselves in the finals with PMMS, which prevailed over the Patriots, 21-17, in their last elimination-round assignment.

Manzano, who took the top honors with Satchel Senupe last year, got off to a good start with a 21-19 beating of  Philippine School of Business Administration Lady Jaguars bets Dyrene Rose Benecio and Grace Pagran.
