SBC booters in 3rd win


DEFENDING champion San Beda  coasted to its third straight victory, defeating University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, 6-0, in the NCAA football tournament last Monday at the Philsports Football Stadium.

The Red Lions moved up with nine points to tie Emilio Aguinaldo College, which bounced back from its loss to San Beda the last time out with a 1-0 squeaker over Arellano University.

Rodante Larios Jr. struck on the 75th minute for the Generals for 3-0-1 win-draw-loss record.

The Chiefs remained at six points with a 2-0-2 slate, while the Altas are winless in four assignments.

Meanwhile, reigning titlist Letran completed an eight-game sweep of the first round by blanking EAC, 3-0, in the tennis competitions also on Monday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

College of Saint Benilde, San Beda and San Sebastian College are all tied in second place with identical 6-2 cards.

Second round starts at 9 a.m. today, with the Knights taking on the Stags, while the Blazers battling it out with the Red Lions.            (Theodore P. Jurado)
