DEFENDING champion La Salle tries to inch closer to claiming an outright finals berth as it takes on also-ran National University today in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.
The Lady Archers are seeking to stretch their unbeaten run to 13 in the second match at 3:30 p.m. at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Meanwhile, Ateneo hopes to use its 2 p.m. duel against winless University of the Philippines as a ‘workout’ to their much-anticipated showdown with La Salle on Sunday.
Only the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Eagles are the remaining barriers for the Lady Archers in their bid to automatically advance to the championship and gain a ‘thrice-to-beat’ edge.
But for La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus, he is not thinking ahead.
“Dapat kaming maging ready sa bawat makakalaban namin at ibigay ng mga bata ang 100 percent best namin,” said de Jesus.
Even with nothing left at stake, Ateneo (10-2) seeks to assure itself of best elimination round finish since joining the league in 1978.
