Hope Christian storms into WVL lead


Hope Christian High School scored two victories in as many days to march into the forefront of the 17-Under competitive class of the 16th Women's Volleyball League (WVL) at the Xavier School gym.

HCHS defeated Colegio San Agustin, 25-0, 25-15, then came back to beat PWU-JASMS, 25-7, 25-1, to claim its second and third victories on top of the main class in this tournament sponsored by  Milo and organized by the Best Center.

Holy Family School also posted two wins, one over St. Paul College Makati, 25-14, 25-12; and another over Immaculate Concepcion Academy, 25-22, 25-19, to trail HCHS at 2-1.

Colegio San Agustin bounced back with a 25-11, 25-6 victory over St. Paul to share second place with Holy Family.

St. Scholastica's College held back Immaculate Conception, 25-14, 25-14, to claim its second win in two games.

Other winners were:

13-Under Division: (Group A) Colegio San Agustin-A over St. Joseph School of Fairview, 25-9, 25-14; Holy Family School over Assumption via default; and St. Scholastica's over Immaculate Heart of Mary, 25-9, 25-16; (Group B) St. Pedro Poveda College over Assumption Antipolo, 25-14, 25-9;  andJubilee Christian Academy over CSA-B, 25-21-25-15.

17-Under Developmental Division: (Group A) Holy Trinity College over School of the Holy Spirit, 25-7, 24-26, 25-19; (Group B) St. Bridget School over Assumption Antipolo, 25-21, 25-15; and St. Joseph School of Fairview over St. Scholastica's Westgrove, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21; (Group C) Miriam College over Assumption, 25-22, 31-29; and School of Saint Anthony over Saint Pedro Poveda, 25-19, 25-20; (Group D) St. Scholastica's over Espiritu Santo Parochial School, via default; and St. Theresa's College over The Seed Montessori School, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16.
