Presidential Adviser on Environmental Protection Neric Acosta has thrown his full support to the Philippine Water Runs (PWR), which holds its third leg this Sunday in Marikina.
Sec. Acosta, a three-term congressman from Bukidnon, shares in the advocacy of PWR in providing safe and clean drinking water to all Filipinos in line with the United Nations Millenium Development Goal.
Registration is ongoing at SM Marikina. Events on tap are the 3K, 5K and 10K runs. For details, call 0917-8082914 or 0920-4088977.
"We commend the organizers, sponsors and participants of this noteworthy sporting event," said Acosta, also the general manager of Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) and principal author of the Clean Water Act.
PWR's first two legs, backed by Kaakbay, Jockey, LifeStraw, Diadora and Keg with Burlington BioFresh as official socks, drew banner fields in Vigan and Naga with the organizing Eventologists and Veepo Global Resources expecting another huge turnover this weekend.
Marikina City officials, led by Mayor Del De Guzman and Vice Mayor Fabian Cadiz, have also assured their all-out backing to ensure the successful staging of the event.
