AS expected, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta breezed through the NCAA women's volleyball eliminations, completing a nine-game sweep following a 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 win over also-ran Arellano University yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Even with nothing at stake, the Lady Altas played just hard enough in the one hour, three minute match to remain keep their unbeaten record.

In the single-round semifinals starting tomorrow, Perpetual Help takes on Emilio Aguinaldo College, while reigning six-time champion San Sebastian and Letran face-off in a rematch of last season’s finals.

“Ibang laban ang semifinals, hindi pa kami nakaka-siguro.  Sinabi ko sa mga bata na huwag magkumpiyansa dahil lahat ng teams gusto tayong talunin,” said Lady Altas coach Mike Rafael.

The Lady Chiefs finished their season in seventh place with a 4-5 mark

In men's play, titleholder Perpetual Help turned back Arellano, 25-14, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19, to also register a nine-game sweep of the eliminations.

The Chiefs wound up in second spot with an 8-1 card.
