Game today: (Ninoy Aquino Stadium)
8 a.m. -- Perpetual Help vs. Arellano (J/W/M)
UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help System Dalta seeks to cap a dominating elimination round as it takes on also-ran Arellano University today in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament.
With nothing at stake but pride, the Lady Altas shoot for a nine-game sweep and carry the winning feeling going to the single-round semifinals in the 9 a.m. match at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Perpetual Help, which is gunning for its first-ever women’s title, faces a tough challenge from defending champion San Sebastian College, Emilio Aguinaldo College and Letran in the ‘Final Four’.
The Lady Altas are still expected to go all-out against the Lady Chiefs, who are just looking to finish the season with a winning record.
Arellano (4-4) is seeking to force a three-way logjam with Lyceum and San Beda College, both tied at 5-4, in fifth place.
“Committed pa rin ang mga bata na manalo. Gusto naming magkaroon ng mataas na kumpiyansa going to the semis,” said Perpetual Help mentor Mike Rafael.
Reigning men’s titlist Altas (8-0) and Chiefs (8-0) face off in a duel of unbeaten squads right after the women’s match.
Action in the ‘Final Four’ begins on Wednesday.
