GUEST team Lyceum and Arellano face off in a virtual do-or-die match to remain in Final Four contention when the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament resumes at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The no-tomorrow match between the Lady Pirates (4-3) and Lady Chiefs (3-3) is set at 9 a.m.
Aside from Lyceum and Arellano, defending champion San Sebastian, San Beda and Letran – three teams locked in a three-way tie for third place at 5-3 – remain in the hunt for the two remaining semifinal seats.
After the Lady Chiefs, the Lady Pirates finish the eliminations with a showdown with the Lioness on Wednesday.
“May pag-asa pa naman kami sa semifinals, kailangan lang talunin namin yung mga natitirang kalaban sa eliminations,” said Lyceum mentor Emil Lontoc.
The return of middle blocker Tin Casanova from an injury did help a lot for the Lady Pirates, who are seeking to make a good impression in their maiden stint in the league.
College of Saint Benilde (1-6) and Mapua (0-8) collide in a no-bearing match at 1 p.m.
