NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose, battling a painful toe injury, scored 25 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to an 88-79 NBA victory over the Boston Celtics.
Rose sprained a big toe in the first quarter of Tuesday's game against Minnesota and sat out Chicago's 78-64 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
The Bulls' 23-year-old said before Friday's contest that the injury was still painful, but he planned to fight through it.
In other games, Philadelphia 120, Washington 89; Detroit 98, Charlotte 81; Indiana 95, Toronto 90; Minnesota 87, New Orleans 80; Houston 103, Sacramento 89; Dallas 102, Milwaukee 76; San Antonio 99, Portland 83; New Jersey 110, Phoenix 103; LA Lakerws 97, Cleveland 92; Denver 117, Miami 104.
"It's not stopping me," Rose vowed.
All five Chicago starters reached double figure scores as the Bulls improved to 11-2 in the lockout-shortened season.
"Hell, no, we're not surprised," Rose said. "We work hard. Everybody on our team sacrifices a lot and dedicates themselves to making this team better. And everybody knows their role. That's what makes us a good team."
Luol Deng poured in 21 points with 16 rebounds. Joakim Noah also had a "double-double" with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Noah also delivered an impressive late block on Kevin Garnett.
"I played OK," Noah said. "I can still do better. But I'm not going to lie. It felt good to compete.
"We're very deep with a lot of talent. It has to be about our team. Of course everybody wants to play a lot. But as long as we keep 'me' out of it and buy into what Coach wants, we can even get better."
