Games today: (Trinity University of Asia gym)
2 p.m. – Café France vs Big Chill
4 p.m. – Cebuana Lhuillier vs Blackwater
BIG Chill aims for a piece of the lead when it faces Café France today in the elimination round of the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Trinity University of Asia gym.
Enjoying their best start in the tournament, the Super Chargers are hoping they can keep things going in the 2 p.m. match at the Trinity University of Asia gym.
They have displayed nerve of steel in winning two of three games with furious late charge and only trails league leader Freego Jeans, the only other unbeaten team in the conference with four straight wins.
In contrast, Café France is teetering on the brink of elimination with 1-3 record.
Still, the Bakers are in high spirit following their breakthrough 78-73 win against Cobra Energy Drink (0-4) last Thursday. And their desire to stay in contention for a quarter-final spot is another reason to make them dangerous.
“Playing for a place at the top with Freego plus the fact that this is our best start, is certainly reasons enough to keep us hungry against Café France,” said Big Chill coach Arsenio Dysangco.
He said defense will be a key factor in the game and “ the team that wants it more, has a bigger chance of winning.”
In another equally interesting encounter, Cebuana Lhuillier battles Blackwater at 4 p.m., with both teams seeking to get back on the winning track.
The Gems and Elite had their three-game winning streak halted by Freego Jeans.
