Sharon will be the 'Oprah' of TV5

ALMOST in the bag na raw ang pagpirma ng kontrata ni Sharon Cuneta sa TV5.

Balitang she will sign the dotted line, so to speak, which will confirm the report that she will soon do a talk show ala-Oprah sa Kapatid network.

We wonder, though, kung matutuloy pa ang plano ng Star Cinema to have her star in their Mother’s Day presentation sa May.

As we all know, nagkapirmahan na sila for this project ng film arm ng Dos na pinamamahalaan ni Malou Santos bilang managing director.

Sharon is now being managed ni Viva Group of Companies big boss Vic del Rosario.

Her long-time manager, Sandra Chavez, remains a co-manager.

MATAGAL-TAGAL na ring based sa U.S. ang magaling na actor na si Michael de Mesa, now married to a former TV dancer.

He works as a dealer for an ambulance company and is doing well, according to June Rufino, Michael’s talent manager.

This is why, nagdalawang-isip daw ang aktor when she called him up and mentioned to him TV5’s offer to do the series, Valiente, which Direk Joel Lamangan has been tasked to handle.

Luckily, Michael’s bosses allowed him to go on leave during the duration ng kanyang pagte-taping for the new series.

While in town, according to June, Michael will stay with son Ryan Eigenmann, who is now married.

Ryan has given Michael and former wife, actress-director Gina Alajar, their first apo.

Ryan’s showbiz career is also being managed by June.

While theirs was not necessarily an amicable parting of ways, nanatili ang kanilang ugnayan, wika nga, dahil sa kanilang tatlong anak na lalaki.

Geoff Eigenmann, their second, is also an actor and is under contract sa GMA-7.

AJ, their youngest, is also based sa Amerika.

Meanwhile, Valiente will co-star Michael with young actors JC de Vera and Oyo Sotto, among others.

Hindi na matukoy ng viewers what will make them a probable grand winner, tulad nina Melai Cantiveros at Kim Chiu.

Kaso, nagkakatotoo sa programa ang kasabihang too many cooks spoil the broth.

In our case, sad to tell Kuya, ’di na kami eager to watch the show dahil iilan lang ang nakikilala namin, tulad nina Carlo, Slater at ano na nga ba ang name ng anak ni Alvin Patrimonio? (Tin po. — IFF)
