A 56-YEAR-OLD Dutch was shot and wounded by an unidentified gunman while supervising the filling of the land he just purchased in Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental last Friday.
Paulus Gerardus Bakkers was taken to the Gingoog City Sanitarium and Hospital after the attack in Purok 5, Bgy. 20, Gingoog City at 11 a.m. Friday, said a Police Regional Office 10 report.
PRO10 director Chief Supt. Jufel Adriatico said their investigation showed that the victim, a resident of Manganoy City in Surigao del Sur, was supervising the land filling in Purok 5 when three men masked with handkerchiefs approached and demanded for his money.
While the victim was about to open his bag, one of the suspects who was armed with a handgun of unknown caliber, suddenly fired at the Dutch before grabbing his bag containing P60,000, a camera and a cellphone.
Adriatico said follow-up operations are underway to identify and arrest the suspects.
