Friday, 12 March 2010 18:46

BugoyPINOY Dream Academy's Bugoy Drilon is just a runnerup but he's now bigger than winner Laarni Lozada. His hit song "Paano Na Kaya" was even used as the title song in a movie and now, he launches his second album. What can he say about this? "Ayokong mag-isip ng ganyan at baka maka-hurt ako ng feelings ng iba. Ayokong manggaling sa bibig ko 'yan at lalabas na parang ang yabang ko. Bahala na lang ang mga tao. Huwag na lang kami intrigahin ni Laarni kasi friends kami."

Does he want to act also? "Yes, gusto akong i-try mag-comedy. Huwag lang gay role kasi naisyu na akong ganyan dahil sa pagsasalita ko. Buti na lang kilala ko’ng sarili ko at babae po ang gusto ko. Niligawan ko po si Liezl, kasama ko sa PDA, pero ayaw raw niyang mag-boyfriend."

How about Melissa Cantiveros or Melai? "Yes, na-meet ko na siya sa ASAP. Mabait siya. Nagpa-picture pa kami." But she's identified with Jason, her Melason ka-love team. "Hindi ko naman po siya aagawin kay Jason."

But they can form their own love team, Melibug. "Baka magalit fans nila." He can then form a love team with Liezl, called Liebug. "Ampangit!" he laughs.  How about Buglie? He just kept on laughing.

His new album is produced by Vehnee Saturno with three original songs: "Pagkat Mahal Kita", "Ikaw ang Mamahalin" and "Sana'y Ibigin Mo". He also revives Jessa Zaragoza’s "Hindi Na Bale" (the first single), Jaya's "Dahil Tanging Ikaw", and the late Rodel Naval's "Lumayo Ka Man sa Akin", with "Paano Na Kaya" as bonus track. All the minus ones of the songs are also in the album.

Can't get enough of Daniel

AMONG the Jap-Brazilian models who joined showbiz, the most promising is Daniel Matsunaga as he looks more like a leading man and not like a comedian like Akihiro Sato. No wonder he now has lots of fans who requested his return in "The Last Prince" as Nikolai, the prince from Europe who turns out to be a werewolf. Viewers can't get enough of him and his love triangle with Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica. "Nakatulong talaga siya para tumaas ang rating ng show," says a GMA insider.

Carla's acting improves

IN "The Last Prince", Carla Abellana also showed that her acting has improved as Sonia, the deglamorized vet assistant who kisses a frog and turns him back into Prince Javino (Geoff Eigenmann.) Their characters are really so endearing so their fans are requesting GMA-7 not to end their roles in the show anytime soon.

JC cries

SIX OF Annabelle Rama's wards in her Royal Era Entertainment signed exclusive 3-year contracts with GMA-7 that guarantee them of having two projects each year: her own son Raymond Gutierrez, TJ Trinidad, Ehra Madrigal, Bubbles Paraiso, Ynna Asistio and Michelle Madrigal who's absent as she's busy taping for "First Time". All of them already have existing shows. Raymond is in "Showbiz Central" and will also be in "Party Pilipinas". TJ and Ynna are in "Diva", Ehra is in "Diz Iz It", while Bubbles is in "The Last Prince". One ward is missing, JC De Vera.

"Kasama si JC sa kaso ko against Wilma Galvante," says Annabelle. "Witness ko siya, so it's difficult for him to work with GMA. Actually, ayaw niyang umalis sa GMA. Umiyak nga siya, pero wala naman siyang magagawa kasi 'yun din ang gusto ng mommy niya."

Present at the contract signing are GMA bigwigs Atty. Felipe Gozon, Jimmy Duavit and Anette Gozon-Abrogar.

Atty. Abrogar said she realized "Mahirap piliting mag-stay sa'min si JC kasi iba ang level ng problema niya, so we have to let him go."

She's in charge of GMA Films and they have several projects for this year. To  be shown in April is the co-prod with Viva Films, "Working Girls", topbilled by Ruffa Gutierrez, Eugene Domingo and Cristine Reyes. Then they have a Dingdong Dantes-Marian Rivera rom-com, "You To Me Are Everything", slated for a June release. This will be followed by the Richard Gutierrez, Anne Curtis and Claudine Barretto starrer, "In Your Eyes", in July. Also in the planning stage are two comedies, one starring VIc Sotto and another one with Ogie Alcasid and Michael V after their hit "Angelina and Yaya" movie.

Ruffa not returning to ‘The Buzz'

SOMEONE from Ruffa Gutierrez's camp told us that the story that she'll return to "The Buzz" this Sunday to say goodbye formally is simply not true. "Ayaw ng madir niya!" says our source. "Sabi ni Annabelle, once umalis na siya, 'wag na siyang babalik-balik pa. 'Yun na 'yon!"

We asked Annabelle herself about this and she confirmed it. "No, hindi na kailangan pang lumabas uli doon si Ruffa."

Paolo misses shows on GMA

WHAT can Paolo Bediones say now that Richard Gutierrez is replacing him as host of "Survivor Philippines"? "I wish him the best," he says. "It's a show that I really loved doing. Sana, the standards we've been able to establish on its first and second season, ma-maintain nila or malampasan pa as it's really one show that is tough to do. I really miss it, just like hosting Bb. Pilipinas. But we have to move on. In my new job as programming executive of TV 5, I don't just appear on cam but also help in the creative aspect of programming and in recruiting and developing our own talents."

What's the meaning of his show's title, "USI"? "Under Special Investigation, pero puede ring Usisero. This is more hardhitting than any shows I've done before. In our pilot show, we'll show the different sides of the personalities of our presidentiables. Marami ng shows featuring the candidates but this one is out of the box but lighter naman. My first guest is Sen. Dick Gordon and I asked him pointblank: Pikon ka raw? Since he's with the Red Cross, I also asked him to take my blood pressure and do CPR on me. For Councilor JC de los Reyes who's Gordon's nephew, I took him to a nightclub in the red light district and it's his first time to get into one. Nangampanya siya sa mga tao roon. Then there's my interview with Sen. Jamby Madrigal where she says Sen. Loren Legarda's tree planting campaign is hypocrisy."

Why are their new shows scheduled at such an early Sunday afternoon slot as 5:30 p.m. when most people watch showbiz talk shows? "We want to break habits and re-educate viewers for them to get a chance to have alternative shows. Both networks offer showbiz na, sasabay pa ba kami roon? We want them to know there's more out there to watch than what's already being offered to them. We really want to be the third force," says Luchi Cruz Valdez, proud mom of gifted young violinist Joseph Valdez.

Aside from "USI", Paolo will also be the main anchor of their primetime newcast that will start on March 25. He's also scheduled to do a new entertainment show come April.
