Bebeng gone, new typhoon coming

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) declared Typhoon Bebeng out of the country’s parameter, but warned another low pressure area (LPA) could be entering this weekend.

According to Mario Polafox of the PAGASA forecasting center, the LPA coming from the east would likely be entering the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday with a big possibility of becoming a typhoon.

If in case this LPA would become a typhoon, PAGASA will name it “Chedeng.” It is said that this will be a strong one since it haven’t yet reached the country’s lands.

Currently, Typhoon Bebeng was lastly seen 50 kilometers away from the east of Basco, Batanes, with 65 kilometers per hour (kph) of sustained winds and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Signal Number 1 is still raised in Batanes region as Bebeng continuously pulls away from the country while the rest of Luzon’s typhoon signal was removed.
