WE congratulate the franchise holder and CEO of Miss World Philippines, Ms. Cory Quirino for that wonderful job giving the Filipinos honor through the recently concluded beauty pageant held in London where our representative Gwendoline Ruais won first Princess.

Right  after her arrival via Etihad Airways, the first Princess  of Miss World 2011 was given a warm welcome at the Midas Hotel by her Miss World  Philippines family headed by Ms. Quirino  with the pageant’s main presenter, SM Development  Corporation (SWMDC), headed by Mr. Henry Sy.

“Hard work, tedious search and prayers did the trick,” says Cory about the feat.  “But we won’t be sitting down on our laurels. We’ve got to go on with our advocacy, beauty with a purpose.”

Miss World first Princess Gwen ties up with GMA Kapuso Foundation  for fund raisers to help the needy  and the less fortunate – her way of thanking the Filipinos for the support they have given her.

Today, Gwen and her 1st Princess Helen Nicolette Henson, 2nd Princess, Martha Chloe McCulley, 3rd Princess Ma. Paula Bianca  Paz, and 4th Princess Jazel Arrozal  will motorcade starting from GMA Network Center at 10:30 a.m. going to SMDC Corporate Offices in Pasay via  Ayala Avenue. To cap her momentous day, Gwen will pay a courtesy call on the Senate and Congress.

A SHARON-GABBY COMEBACK?

FEW columns back, we said that Megastar Sharon Cuneta is back at  Viva Films.  We all know that Viva Boss Vic del Rosario is a TV5 adviser. Speculations ran wild that Sharon will be transfering to TV5 sooner than one think, especially when she was not seen on the ABS-CBN Christmas plug.

A source told us that Sharon has signed up with TV5 for a talk show, and probably for another TV series. There are also talks that she might do a film under TV5’s film arm.

A Gabby and Sharon comeback is heating up. Really, now  Manny V. Pangilinan or MVP is really relentless for his quest of being number one.
