RHIAN Ramos just returned from watching the Las Vegas fight of Manny Pacquiao when she showed up at the grand presscon of GMA Films’ suspense-thriller cum ghost story, “The Road.” “It’s my first time to watch a live boxing fight and it’s exciting pala,” she says. “We were booked at Mandalay Hotel and when we got there, I just stayed inside our room kasi nagkasakit ako. Lumabas lang ako during the actual fight na. Then we watched the fountain show sa Bellagio, konting shopping sa outlet stores, then uwi na agad dito. We were there for three days and we spent two more days travelling back and forth.”

Rhian won’t talk much about her role in “The Road.” “It’s not wise to reveal details of the story kasi ’di na masu-suspense ang viewers when they watch it. Basta I play a murder victim na magiging multo. Mahirap yung role ko dahil I was tortured then they have to put on prosthetic make up on me so I’d look scary.”

Aside from “The Road”, Rhian is also in ‘Ang Panday, Ikalawang Aklat’. “I continue my role in ‘Panday 1.’” But didn’t she die there? “Yes, pero bubuhayin nila ako through magic.”

Her ex-BF DJ Mo is said to be leaving his career here to relocate for good in New York. How does she feel about it? “Good luck. I wish him a good life in the U.S.”

GERALD MIGHT FALL FOR SARAH

GERALD Anderson’s ex-GF, Kim Chiu, is now said to be lovey-dovey with her “My Binondo Girl” leading man, Xian Lim, who have even written a song for Kim. What can he say about this? “If it’s true, I’m happy for Kim at sana, alagaan siyang mabuti ni Xian,” he says. “Mabait si Kim and Xian is very lucky na makapareha siya.”

He’s paired for the second time with Sarah Geronimo in “Won’t Last a Day Without You”, with Joey de Leon, Megan Young, Young JV, Martin del Rosario and John Lapus supporting them, directed by Raz de la Torre. Their first screen outing early this year, “Catch Me, I’m in Love”, was a big hit. He’s been loveless after he broke up with Kim and later, Bea Alonzo, who’s now on with Zanjoe Marudo. What are his chances of his falling for Sarah?

“I’m not discounting the possibility, as she’s pretty and talented. It’s easy to fall for her, but huwag nating madaliin. As of now, we’re close and very good friends.”

What advice would he give Sarah about affairs of the heart after her controversial real life triangle with Rayver Cruz and Cristine Reyes. “Na huwag siyang masyadong matakot na pumasok uli sa isang bagong relationship. If it doesn’t work at ’di nagtagal, just treat it as a learning experience kasi alam mo na kung ano ang maganda at kung ano ang pangit sa naging relasyon n’yo. Next time, you’d know how to handle it better. Kung wala ka namang karelasyon at the moment, okay rin lang 'yun. Like me, my family, my friends and fans give me inspiration now.”

DAIANA RETURNS RING TO BF-DIRECTOR

DAIANA Menezes looks so pretty and happy at the party of Malou Choa-Fagar. You wouldn’t think she just came out from a bad breakup with Direk GB Sampedro and that her condo unit was just razed by a fire with all her belongings.

“Life goes on,” she says. “People tell me they’re happy for me na naghiwalay na kami after he didn’t at all bother to help me during the fire when we live in the same building.”

So there’ll be no more “pamanhikan” to her parents in Brazil? “Wala na.” But did she really keep the engagement ring he gave to her? “No, I returned it to him. Matagal na. What I know is that he was able to buy a new car after I returned the ring.”

JOLINA WEDS BF TODAY

TODAY, November 21, is the wedding day of Jolina Magdangal and Rivermaya drummer Mark Escueta. A hush-hush affair with only closest friends and relative invited, it will be a garden wedding in Splendido, Tagaytay. It’ll be recalled that Mark formally proposed marriage to Jolina in ‘Party Pilipinas’ last June 5 while she’s celebrating her 21st anniversary in showbiz.

Next Monday, November 28, it will be the turn of singer Kyla and cager Rich Alvarez to tie the knot. Take note that both Jolina and Kyla are part of GMA-7’s Sunday show, “Party Pilipinas”, and this is probably the reason why they held their weddings on a Monday, so their “Party Pilipinas” colleagues will be free to attend it.
