ANGAT, Bulacan -- A 25-year-old driver was arrested by authorities for carrying suspected illegal drugs in Bgy. Sta. Cruz here Friday morning.

Angat police head Chief Insp. Arwin Tadeo identified the suspect as Leo Paulino, single, of Bgy. San Roque, Angat, Bulacan.

Tadeo said that at 8:45 a.m., his policemen, with the coordination of Philippine Drugs Enforecement Agency Region 3, conducted operations against illegal drugs in the said barangay, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Confiscated from Paulino was one transparent plastic sachet containing suspected metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

The evidence was brought to the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory for examination. A case of violation of the Dangerous Drug Act will be filed against the suspect.
