A SUSPECTED snatcher was arrested after victimizing an old man of his expensive gold bracelet in Mandaluyong City Thursday afternoon.

PO2 Erwin Gorobao of Police Community Precinct 3 said Demetrio Roxas, 62, a landscaper in Cubao Farmers, of Tandang Sora, Old Balara, Quezon City, was inside a passenger bus at about 1:40 p.m. going to Fairview when upon reaching Highway Hills in Mandaluyong City, suspect Rolly Gamalo, 32, of Calbayog St., Bgy. Highway Hills, who was also on board the same bus, grabbed his arm and took his gold bracelet. The victim resisted, prompting the suspect to poke a knife on the face of the victim.

“Pumalag ako at manlalaban sana pero bumunot siya ng balisong at pinagtangkaan akong sasaksakin kaya pinabayaan ko na lang,” the victim said.

“Nang bumaba ng bus ay agad kong sinundan ang suspek at hinabol sabay sigaw ng ‘snatcher, snatcher.’ Akto namang napadaan sa lugar si PO2 Gorobao kung kaya’t agad itong nagresponde,” he said.

When bodily searched, the suspect yielded a fan knife and the gold bracelet of the victim worth P40,000. Al Rivera
