Tattooed robbers killed in shootout

TWO more ‘riding-in-tandem’ suspects were killed in a shootout with Manila Police District (MPD) Station 2 operatives before dawn yesterday.

The identities of the two, who have tattoos in their bodies, remain to be established by the police. SPO2 Mibert Balinggan of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the shootout occurred at around 2 a.m. yesterday at the corner of Narra and P. Algue Sts. in Tondo.

Mobile No. 321, was reportedly patrolling the said area when they chanced upon two women who claimed they have just been held up.

The victims, Mylene Abril, 37, and Aida Solas, 40, said they have just finished shopping at a night market in Tondo and were waiting for a ride when the suspects emerged aboard a motorcycle and held them up at gunpoint. The patrolling policemen immediately scoured the area and found the suspects based on the victims’ description.

Instead of yielding to the police whom they noticed to be tailing them, the duo fired, prompting the police to shoot back, killing the suspects instantly.     Itchie G. Cabayan
