BUREAU of Customs Commissioner Rufino “Ruffy” Biazon confirmed he would implement a bureau-wide reshuffle of key personnel in two months’ time, following a planned reshuffle of the entire Intelligence Group (IG) anytime now.
In an exclusive interview, Biazon said he already made clear to all of the bureau’s 15 port collectors the reshuffle shall take place after the holiday season.
“I told them by that time, I am already three months in office at kilala ko na sila, kung sino ang magaling, kung sino ang hindi,” Biazon said.
For his part, IG Deputy Commissioner Danilo “Danny” Lim told this reporter in a separate exclusive interview that he is just awaiting the approval of Biazon for his proposed IG-wide reshuffle that would mostly affect the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS).
Lim said prime candidate to the CIIS director post which is now vacant is Rolando “Rolly” Sacramento, the current CIIS chief of staff. Lim is personally supervising its operations in concurrent capacity.
“Pero alam mo naman ang ganyang posisyon (CIIS director), palaging pinag-aagawan, andaming intriga,” Lim added.
The Customs chief said he is now awaiting any proposal from Enforcement Group (EG) Deputy Commissioner for Horacio Suansing, also for a bureau-wide reshuffle of the EG.
The EG has a new director for the Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) or Customs Police in the person of retired police General George Aliño.
Aliño took his oath of office on Tuesday before Finance Cecretary Cesar Purisima, together with Juan Lorenzo Tañada, the new deputy commissioner for Internal Administration Group (IAG).
