Suspended Metro buses are back on the road

SUSPENDED Metro buses are back and plying their regular routes, the stretch of EDSA and Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.

This was confirmed by the leadership of Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in response to complaints of the public who spotted buses of the sanctioned firms back in business since Wednesday.

LTFRB said these bus companies have  filed their motion for consideration before the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).

“Well on this case, we could not act on it, unless the case was solved by the DOTC, but we could not do anything while their cases are being heard by the department,” LTFRB official said.

“Antayin po nating matapos ang desisyon ng DOTC kung ano ang desisyon nila tsaka po uli gagawa ng action ang Board,” the official added.

Last week, the LTFRB cancelled the franchise of Philippine Corinthians Bus Liner while 16 other bus companies were suspended for six months apparently for their participation in the transport strikes on November 15, 2010.

The LTFRB has also summoned  two other bus companies who were involved in a vehicular accident that resulted in the injury of 54 passengers.
