A COP and his superior were killed in a shooting incident inside their headquarters following a heated argument regarding rules and policies in their headquarters the other day in Surigao del Sur.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 spokesman Supt Martin Gamba identified the fatalities as Insp. Edgardo Dico, chief of Bayabas Municipal Police Station, of Carmen, Surigao del Sur, and PO3 Lord Anthony Lerin, of Tandag City.

Dico was declared dead on arrival at Adela Serra Ty Hospital in Tandag City while PO3 Lerin died while undergoing treatment at the said hospital.

Dico sustained gunshot wound in the stomach while Lerin suffered gunshot wounds in the shoulder and leg.

Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the incident occurred at around 12:05 p.m. inside Bayabas Municipal Police Station.

Initial investigation revealed that the cop and his superior figured in a heated argument that led to armed confrontation.

Dico armed with M-16 rifle and Lerin using .45 pistol shot each other.

Authorities are now conducting follow-up investigation into the incident.
