LAOAG City -- Residents of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, are alarmed by a snake which bit and killed a farmer over the weekend in Bgy. Polangi, Bacarra.
Police reported that Wilmer Agonoy, 38, of Polangi, was catching fish in a forested canal in the said barangay when he was suddenly attacked by a dreaded snake.
The victim did not immediately seek treatment in a hospital so the rabies spread in the victim’s body after he was bitten in his hand. Few minutes later, the victim died.
According to policemen in Bacarra, this was not the first time that local residents heard of such snake-biting incident in the said place, saying there had been an earlier victim of snake bite in the barangay.
