‘Shabu queen,’ 5 others nabbed


SIX persons, including an alleged “shabu queen,” were arrested during separate operations in Malolos City, Baliuag and Obando, Bulacan.

Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Fernando Mendez Jr. identified the suspects as Mirinda Cortez, 43, single, of Sitio Libis, Bgy. Poblacion and alleged shabu queen of Baliuag; Alejandro Paloma, 24, jeepney driver, of Bgy. Catmon; Augusto Llaneta Mesa, 32, market marshall, of Bgy. Santor; Gerry Perol, 33, tricycle driver, of Bgy. Sumapang Matanda, all in Malolos City; Jonathan Danal, 32, and Chrislan Lazaro, 27, both of Bgy. Paliwas, Obando, Bulacan.

Supt. Rizalino Andaya, Baliuag police chief, said Cortez was arrested in a buy-bust operation Sunday morning after she sold a transparent plastic sachet of shabu worth P500.

Seized from the suspect were 24 plastic sachets containing shabu worth P50,000 and P500 bill used as buy bust money.

Meanwhile, Supt. David Poklay conducted illegal drugs operation in Bgy. Mojon and arrested Paloma, Mesa and Perol for possession of four plastic sachets containing shabu.

Citing reports from Supt. Lorenzo Paynor, the arrest of two alleged drug pushers was the result of the information given by a concerned citizen of Obando.

Police recovered two small sachets containing crystalline substance suspected to be shabu worth P2,000 and dried marijuana leaves.

The arrested suspects and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for laboratory.
