THE Philippine National Police Civil Security Group (PNP-CSG) marks its 31st founding anniversary today by becoming a truly ISO-certified office which means that it is now a world-class office giving excellent service to the public.
PNP chief Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome will assist Cagayan (1st District) Representative and concurrent Philippine Practical Shooting Association president Juan Ponce C. Enrile Jr. in recognizing the officers and men behind the success of the PNP-CSG led by its former director, now Acting PNP Chief Directorial Staff Director Emelito T. Sarmiento, new PNP-CSG director Chief Supt. Roque G. Ramirez and PNP-CSG deputy director Chief Supt. Noel Lazarus G. Vargas.
Sarmiento said the PNP-CSG will be awarded the ISO-certification by representatives from TUV Rheinland, the ISO certifying body in the country, in today’s occasion.
The PNP-CSG and the offices under it, the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO) and the PNP Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP-SOSIA), has worked its way into developing a management system that will ensure quality service for its clientele and making it a world-class office.
Sarmiento, a sharpshooter who recently topped the Game of the Generals in Camp Bagong Diwa, spearheaded the project to standardize the Quality Management System of the PNP-CSG, the PNP-FED and the PNP-SOSIA in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008.
He said the current adoption of CSG to ISO Certification is focused on the consistent improvement of business processes and objectives to enhance service quality lane and customer satisfaction by identifying areas for improvement and creating measurable targets.
Sarmiento’s successor, Chief Supt. Ramirez, said that with the ISO-certification, they can assure that all their stakeholders will be best served through fast and efficient processing time apart from having an improved access to relevant information needed to strengthen partnership between the PNP and its stakeholders by advocating business-friendly services.
Achieving ISO Certification requires tedious process but once in place, it will provide the benchmark to best management standards and practices of the CSG, he said.
