Laguna Governor Jeorge “E.R.” Ejercito Estregan has earned another honor by becoming the first governor of Laguna to be recognized and awarded the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award during the 2011 Outstanding Public Officials and Employees Awarding Rites last November 9 at the Rizal Ceremonial Hall, Malacañang Palace.
The Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award is the highest and most prestigious honor given by the President to an individual for exceptional or extraordinary contributions that had a nationwide impact on public interest, security and patrimony.
The Philippine Civil Service Commission saluted the nation’s most outstanding public servant like Governor Ejercito who upholds the ideals of excellence, professionalism and integrity in public service.
President Benigno C. Aquino III conferred the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award on Governor Ejercito for his transformative leadership, implementing programs and projects reflective of his genuine desire to advance the welfare of the people of Laguna.
Through the “K2”: Kinse Kumpleto Serbisyo Publiko Kontra Kahirapan at Gutom”, Gov. Ejercito raised local governance to a new level through his live programs on health care, education, housing services, infrastructure, agriculture, tax collection, environmental protection, tourism, peace and order and disaster preparedness.
The gold medallion from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and plaque containing the citation of recognition and cash reward of P200,000 from President Aquino were presented to Governor Ejercito by Civil Service Commission Chairman Francisco T. Duque III and Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr. Former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada (the governor’s uncle) also graced the event.
