KRIS Aquino is arriving today and she promised to clarify rumors about her while she was on vacation in the US with her two kids, Joshua and Baby James. First, the rumor that she’s pregnant. “Sino raw ang ama?” she reportedly asked when she heard about it. But through text to friends, she clarified the rumor. She admitted going to her OB gyne, Dr. Greg Pastorfide for check up, but it was for an anti-cervical cancer advocacy, for a cervical cancer vaccine endorsement which good friend, Boy Abunda, said is airing now. Second, about her new show, “Pilipinas Win na Win” with ex-boyfriend, Robin Padilla. Some say it might rekindle the old flame (especially now that her marriage to James Yap has crumbled), but could ignite friction between her and Robin’s current flame, Mariel Rodriguez who is co-hosting the new show, along with Pokwang and Valerie Concepcion. Well, Kris won’t be Queen of All Media for nothing. Whatever she does is news and everybody is waiting. KAILAN KA HIHINTO, VICE GANDA?
TALENT shows like ‘Showtime’ serves as a jumping board for people who want to be in showbusiness, or simply win a prize. But we think comedian Vice Ganda’s judging style is getting too harsh. Yesterday, he asked a singing member of a group contestant: “Kailan ka natutong kumanta?” The poor guy (hapless looking gay?) replied: “Since high school pa po.” Vice quickly injected: “Kailan ka hihinto?” Then he followed it up with his dark judgment. Prior to this, when the audience asked him to give a “sample” (of his own talent), he got up his seat, walked (in his signature horse walk) towards the audience, moaned wildly like a horse for several seconds, and screamed, “Nakakasawa na ‘yang sample-sample na ‘yan.” He might be intending to make people laugh but most in the audience were not amused (they were caught by the cameras), while his co-hosts, Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro tried to save the moment. Maybe, someone should tell him to hold his horses as his novelty might limp one day. If he keeps that stance towards people who want to share talents (or so they think), someone should ask him: Kailan pa siya natutong mag-judge? At kailan siya hihinto? KRISTA SNATCHED FIANCE?
THE forthcoming wedding of Krista Ranillo to businessman Nino Lim (who owns a chain of Island Pacific supermarkets in the US) on August 7 will put to rest the rumor between Krista and world boxing champ- turned-congressman, Manny Pacquiao. But wagging tongues in the Filipino community in the US won’t spare Krista. Some say she was the reason why Nino broke off with girlfriend, Janelle So (a former sportscaster in Manila, who now hosts a TV show on Channel 18 in LA). But Krista’s camp assures that the romance between her and Nino rekindled after the latter has split up with Janelle. Maybe, our good friends, Atty. Jemela Nettles and show producer, Rogel Aragon could run a story on their TV show on GMA Pinoy TV about the couple, knowing that both are close to Nino. Until now, some people in the Filipino community in the US are accusing Krista of “snatching” Nino from Janelle. That was also the case when the rumor about her and the Pacman was still raging. |
