THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines yesterday prohibited all aircraft from flying close to Bulusan Volcano after it spewed ash and debris.

CAAP Director General Ramon Gutierrez said the prohibition issued by the International Flight Operations Briefing Station at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport took effect at 9:28 a.m. yesterday.

The order was immediately relayed to some 180 member countries of the International Civil Aviation Organization, IFOBS supervisor Cris Lanuza said.    Willy M. Balasa
