TWO were killed while four others were seriously injured when two unidentified gunmen shot them while they were having a drinking spree Wednesday night in Caloocan City.
City police commander Senior Supt. Jude Santos said Leonillo Antonio, 33, married, of Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, and Chat Julius, 21, of North Ridge, Palmera, Bulacan, died while undergoing treatment at the Far Eastern University Hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Wounded were Joseph Del Miguez, 27, of Phase 1, Package 3 Block 40, Bagong Silang, Jerbie Molina, 23, of Saint Jorge Street, Sacred Heart Barangay 179, Arjay Octobre, 20, and Alvin Cablan, 22, of Evergreen Rowerville, Bagombong, Caloocan City.
Case investigator SPO1 Danilo B. Obias said the victims were drinking outside Molina’s house at 10:30 p.m. when the suspects on board a motorcycle without license plate arrived, and without any provocation opened fire at the victims.
Neighbors rushed outside their houses when they heard the gunshots, prompting the suspects to immediately escape.
Eighteen empty shells of caliber .22 pistol were recovered at the crime scene.
Investigators eyed gang rivalry as the possible motive behind the attack.
